J Carter Centre was incorporated in November 2006 as a training business providing enrichment and corporate training to schools and organizations. In November 2008, we set up our centre in Novena specializing in Public Speaking for teens and children. In 2013, we moved to our present location in Upper Thomson. In 2009, we structured our public speaking programmes to follow the Communication Skills specifications of Trinity College London and started preparing our students for the Graded Examinations. Our students have constantly achieved outstanding results in International exams attesting to the high standards of our programmes.

Position 1: Speech & Drama Intern
J Carter Centre is seeking dynamic and creative Drama students to coach children ages 7 – 12 years in public speaking and performance skills.
Candidates should be keen to assist the lead teacher during class sessions and be proactive in classroom management.
Candidates should have a good command of the English Language (spoken and written) and be able to teach in a fun and exciting manner.
Candidates should possess a recognised qualification in relation to the position such as Theatre, Speech & Drama, or Communication Skills, or is in the process of acquiring a diploma in drama.
Classes are available on both weekdays and weekends. Interns should be willing to work an average of 25 to 30 hours per week.
Allowance range from $550-$600 per month depending on the number of hours worked.
Position 2: Speech & Drama Teacher (Freelance)
J Carter Centre is seeking dynamic and creative Speech and Drama educators to coach children ages 7 – 12 years in public speaking and performance skills.
Candidates with some experience in teaching public speaking or drama to primary students are preferred.
Candidates should have a good command of the English Language (spoken and written) and be able to conduct classes in a fun and exciting manner.
Candidates should possess a recognised qualification in relation to the position such as Theatre, Speech & Drama, or Communication Skills.
Classes are available on both weekday (Wed/Thu/Fri from 3:30pm to 7pm) and weekend (Sat/Sun from 10am to 4pm). Number of classes offered will depend on the experience and ability of the candidate.
Candidates must be willing to undergo some training before teaching any classes.
Attractive hourly wage on class or semester term, freelance basis.
