1) Perform audit sampling based on audit sampling methodologies for use in external audit fieldwork
2) Carry out audit fieldwork, including but not limited to the following areas:
- Test of Details
- Substantive Analytical Procedures
- Reasonableness Tests
- Physical Asset Sighting
- Inventory audit procedures
3) Work on / draft audit adjustments in consultation with audit manager / partner in relation to closing
4) Research on applicable Financial Reporting Standards (FRS) such as FRS115 or FRS 116 and their practical application to fieldwork
5) Drafting of Financial Statements for review by Audit Manager
Learning outcomes:
1) Practical exercise of professional judgement
2) Practical application of audit methodology theory (both sampling and fieldwork) taught in class
3) Understanding how to communicate with SME clients in relation to audit fieldwork
4) On-Job training with experienced audit partners/mentors, knowledge transfer viz practical elements of audit
5) Learning how to draft financial statements in compliance with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards, including disclosure items
