COMPANY BACKGROUND
Kosmode Health Singapore’s was incorporated with the mission to expand access to health from nature, as a business enabler. Anchored on a Triple Technology Platform, KosmodeHealth overcomes issues of high cost of plant health ingredients for functional food development with proprietary Plant Extraction Technology, and high cost and risk of animal protein biomaterial for biomedical applications with Plant Protein Composite (PPC™) Bio ink formulation technology and proprietary precisioncontrolled 3D bio scaffold printing methodology.
KosmodeHealth has two business verticals:
- Plant Extraction & Functional Food vertical serving the Agri-food Industry &
- 3D Bioprinting vertical serving the 3D cell culture segment in the Biomedical Industry.
The core plant extraction expertise has been utilised to reclaim proteins and fibre from food processing spent materials. A range of protein & fibre functional food prototypes has been developed. Amongst the functional food prototypes developed, is a starchless, high fibre, protein noodles with ZERO Glycemic Index (W0W® Noodles).
Plant protein extracted has also been formulated into Plant Protein Composite (PPC™) bio-ink and that can be printed into 3D PPC™ Scaffold for 3D cells & tissue culture.

OVERALL JOB SCOPE
The Food Tech Intern supports Technology Lead in plant bioactive extraction, functional food production/formulation/optimization and project management of internal R&D and/or customers’ project.
SPECIFIC ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Undertake extractions of bioactive (e.g. polyphenols, proteins, fibers etc) from botanicals and food processing and/or agri-food side-streams (such as spent barley, spent coffee).
- Design, formulate, manufacture functional products for commercialization.
- Analysis of food compositions including micronutrients
- Support development of ZERO GI functional food with upcycled materials
- Project management - Plans, schedules, coordinate internal resources, liaise with third parties/vendors for the seamless execution of customers’ and R&D projects.
- Perform analysis, characterization, identification of botanicals, extracts etc.
- Develop/design experiments to extend shelf life, optimise production process to achieve technical and marketing specifications
- Contribute to efficient end to end (production to order fulfilment) of company’s product portfolio (including but not limited to W0W® Noodles and upcycled ingredients with functional benefits)
- Prepare business process reports for management and customers.
- Participate in customers’ meetings and business development activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Academic Qualification:
- 2nd or 3rd year Food Science & Technology undergraduate
- Able to commit for at least 5 months (the part-time arrangement for month 4, 5 could be explored)
- Prior experience in functional food formulation and or marketing are strong advantages.
