Role Overview:
As a Product Design Intern, you will work closely with our design and engineering teams on the conceptualisation and development of lighting products and accessories. This role offers hands-on experience in the end-to-end design process — from research and ideation to prototyping and refinement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design of in-house lighting development projects
- Create and refine 2D drawings and 3D models using tools like AutoCAD, Rhinoceros, and Grasshopper
- Support physical prototyping, including mock-ups, model making, and sample testing
- Apply design thinking and user-centric approaches to problem-solving and ideation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product development, engineering, and marketing
- Conduct materials and manufacturing research to support design decisions
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute fresh, creative ideas
Requirements:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Diploma or Degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, or any related field
- Proficient in 2D and 3D design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Rhinoceros, Grasshopper, Adobe Creative Suite)
- Strong prototyping and model-making skills
- Good sense of form, detail, and materiality
- Familiar with the design process, from concept to execution
- Independent, resourceful, and a strong team player
- Passion for lighting, product innovation, and thoughtful design
