Job Description

INTERNSHIP POSITION: Systems Engineering 

INDUSTRY: Marine

LOCATION: Singapore (West Coast)


This role offers mentorship, training, and opportunities for career growth within our organization!

 

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Systems Engineer trainee to join our team. This role provides an excellent opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in engineering design and technical configuration of telecommunication, safety & security, and marine navigation systems.


You will work with technologies such as IP Infrastructure, WIFI WLAN, Firewall security, IP-PABX, PAGA, CCTV, VCS, TETRA/DMR UHF/VHF Radio, GMDSS Radio, GEO/MEO/LEO VSAT, IPTV, Radar, and Gyrocompass.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•⁠ ⁠Assist senior engineers in understanding client requirements and contribute to proposing suitable technical solutions.

•⁠ ⁠Support in preparing engineering documentation and ensure timely and accurate submission.

•⁠ ⁠Create basic engineering sketches and assist AUTOCAD drafters in developing technical drawings.

•⁠ ⁠Learn and apply industry standards and best practices in engineering design and documentation.

•⁠ ⁠Provide support in system configuration, simulation, testing, and verification under supervision.

•⁠ ⁠Assist in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and participate in technical training sessions.

•⁠ ⁠Collaborate with team members on various tasks and projects as assigned.


REQUIREMENTS:

•⁠ ⁠Bachelor's degree in IT / Electronics, Electrical Engineering / Telecommunications, or a related technical discipline.

•⁠ ⁠Strong interest in marine communications systems, and technical system design.

•⁠ ⁠Good organizational and time-management skills.

•⁠ ⁠Effective communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts.

•⁠ ⁠Willingness to learn and work collaboratively in a team environment.

•⁠ ⁠Basic knowledge of AUTOCAD (Certification is a plus).

•⁠ ⁠Academic project experience in marine communication systems is an added advantage.


PREFERRED SKILLS (OPTIONAL):

•⁠ ⁠Familiarity with tools such as CadnaA (PAGA), Ekahau (WIFI), or iBwave (UHF/GSM) is a plus.

•⁠ ⁠Exposure to site commissioning or radio surveying experience is advantageous.

•⁠ ⁠Interest and desire to set up own home communications system is a benefit.
