Meka Studios LLP was started in May 2013. The company is focused on enabling creativity and innovation through increasing access to digital fabrication tools such as 3D printing. The company provides 3D design and printing services, service support and training. The company provides repair services for all makes and models of 3D printers and is also one of the leading suppliers of PLA and ABS filaments in Singapore. Our clients include Nanyang Technological University, Singapore Polytechnic, Temasek Polytechnic, ITE College Central and United World College. Mēkā has conducted training in numerous schools and is also conducted introductory courses in conjunction with the People's Association. Mēkā is also in the process of launching The Digital Blacksmith, an agency fully immersed in design and prototyping work.
Job Description
Mēkā is looking for 2 interns to be part of our latest project in conjunction with Singapore's 50th Birthday Celebration in 2015.
Job scope:
The internship will primarily focus on a heritage project that has been awarded as part of the Singapore Memory Project. Revolving around past architecture in Singapore and our shared heritage, the project would involve working with collaborators to document, design, 3D print and record memories associated with iconic architecture from Singapore's past.
The interns will be involved primarily in marketing and organising publicity events. The interns will also act as a liaison between collaborators and freelancers.
Relevant skills:
The intern must be easy-going and independent. The intern must also be willing to go above and beyond what is asked and contribute to the betterment of the project and the company as a whole.
Mēkā is a startup and as such the intern must be willing to work in an environment where roles are not clearly defined. The intern must be willing to learn and make decisions on their own.
What we will do for you: We promise to provide you with the best learning experience. The intern will gain vast experience from a wide variety of different assignments. We will always be on hand to guide and ensure that you have a fruitful internship with us.
The work hours will be flexible but this does not mean the intern will have to work the same long hours as us. We are also very open to having the intern work from home whenever possible.
Our office is shared with a couple of cool kids from a video production company, so you will be able to satisfy your curious cat tendencies in that department too.
