Mocha Chai Laboratories (MCL) is a one-stop boutique studio, providing services from Content Development, Production, to Post, and Delivery. We also provide Quality Checks services, Film scanning and Film Restoration work. We are an award-winning state-of-the-art Dolby Vision and Atmos facility, working with partners such as, Apple, HBO Asia, Discovery, CJ ENM HK etc. Most recently, we are producing international drama series for OTT platforms, first of which is "Venus On Mars" with CJ ENM HK. We will continue to invest in unique Content and Technology as we believe in the Art and Science of storytelling and the power of a great story well-told.
Mocha Chai Laboratories is hiring writing interns! We’re looking for aspiring writers with collaborative attitudes who want to get involved in the development, writing, and pitching process of making a series worthy of Netflix, Amazon, or HBO.
As a writing intern, you will have the opportunity to:
- Learn the craft of writing a show from working professionals who have made projects with CJ, Blumhouse, HBO, and more
- See how shows are created from start to finish
- Contribute ideas, build character arcs, and create streamer-worthy pitch decks
Key responsibilities will include:
- Participating in brainstorms
- Collating ideas and disseminating information to the writing team
- Providing support and research for writers to help them with their episodes
- Providing meaningful and constructive feedback on treatments, outlines, and scripts
This job will NOT make you:
- Pick up laundry
- Work for free
- Question your life decisions (only sometimes)
No experience necessary! That’s what internships are for.
Key Qualifications and Skills:
- A good attitude
- The ability to work with others
- Openness to learn
- You have watched at least one show or series all the way through
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, KeyNote, or Canva is a plus but not required
- Experience in FinalDraft, Celtx, or other scriptwriting software is a bonus
