Role Overview:
As a Data Analyst at MPFunds, you will be responsible for analyzing complex data sets related to trading activities, market trends, and trader performance. Your insights will be instrumental in optimizing trading strategies, enhancing risk management protocols, and improving overall firm performance. You will work closely with the trading, risk management, and technology teams to develop data-driven solutions that align with the firm's objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Collection & Management:
- Gather, clean, and maintain large datasets from various sources, including trading platforms (e.g., MetaTrader, cTrader), financial markets, and internal databases.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy for analysis.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Conduct deep-dive analyses of trading patterns, market behaviors, and trader performance to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights for traders, risk managers, and executives.
Performance Monitoring:
- Analyze trader performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of trading strategies and risk management practices.
- Provide insights on how to improve profitability and reduce risk exposure based on data-driven analysis.
Risk Management Support:
- Collaborate with the risk management team to develop models and tools for assessing and managing trading risks.
- Monitor real-time trading activities and flag potential risks using predictive analytics.
Technology & Tools Development:
- Work with the technology team to automate data collection, processing, and reporting tasks.
- Develop algorithms and scripts to streamline data analysis processes.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Communicate findings and insights to cross-functional teams, including traders, risk managers, and senior management.
- Provide data-driven recommendations to improve trading strategies and operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
Skills & Experience:
- Knowledge of financial markets and trading platforms is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail (Excel worksheet)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Strong communication skills to present complex data in a clear and concise manner.
Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience in a proprietary trading firm or financial institution.
- Familiarity with trading algorithms and risk management practices.
