Company Profile

Who we are

Here at Muuse, we are building the future of our economy - reuse. With systems running in Asia and North America we are leading the reuse movement and changing the way consumers and businesses fundamentally think about packaging and waste.

We are looking for ways to make reuse more convenient and attractive to mainstream audiences and have partnered with a major food services company to deliver a reuse system at a hawker centre in Tampines, one of Singapore’s designated ‘eco-towns’. We’re looking for outgoing and motivated Sustainability Project Assistants to be our brand advocate for the reuse campaign and provide operational support to deliver a remarkable reuse experience for our users.

Job Description

What you’ll be doing

  • Your main priority will be engagement booth management and support for on-site operations. You will work with the Project Manager as well as marketing and operations team members to execute customer engagement strategy and operations/logistics plan at the hawker centre.

  • Specifically, this will include setting up and maintaining the engagement booth, demonstrating and providing information about Muuse and how the app works, managing cash and digital payment for deposit-based borrows and returns, and engaging in meaningful interactions to discover users’ needs and wants. You will largely be responsible for increasing user adoption of the new service and providing troubleshooting for both users and participating hawker stall owners when the need arises.

  • You will be managing day-to-day operational tasks that ensure upkeep of the engagement booth, return stations as well as collateral assets and reusables at hawker stalls. This will include frequent checks and wipe down of return stations during your working shifts and to assist with the allocation and stocking up of reusables at hawker stalls. You will also need to balance the cash drawer to account for all deposit-based borrows and returns.

Who you are

  • Excellent interpersonal skills. You will need to coordinate internally with the Muuse team and engage with our customers externally, often as the first point of contact.

  • User-focused. You enjoy talking to people and are interested in the possibilities of circular economy and sustainability in Singapore, and are excited by the challenge of how to get more people using Muuse to save single-use waste.

  • Proactively take responsibility. You take initiative to try things out and proactively share your understanding of what customers are looking for back into product, content creation, and operations teams.

  • Able to work independently and comfortable with flexibility. We are a small start-up, refining our system and overall service. We need to remain agile and respond to customer feedback and how we can improve.

  • Able to commit 2-5 days a week for at least 2 months. We are working on a flexible, contract basis arrangement in line with the campaign period from November 2022 to February 2023. There will be 2 shifts per day (Monday to Sunday) - 2 to 3 hours each, during lunch and dinner. We pay $12 - $15 per hour, depending on skill set and experience, in addition to a target-related bonus.

  • You must be based in Singapore. Singaporean citizens or PR preferred. Students and homemakers are welcome.

Nice to haves

  • Well-versed in sustainability and the key debates and issues in Singapore. This can be learnt so it is not essential but would help the candidate hit the ground running.

  • Bilingual capability will be a strong advantage - can speak in English, Mandarin, Malay and/or Tamil fluently. Ability to understand / speak any Chinese dialects like Cantonese, Teochew and Hokkien is a bonus.

  • Located near Tampines. Will make it easier for you to travel to the project site and also understand the local community.
