Job Description
The Company
Boracs designs and manufactures warehouse pallet racking system made of steel. The company is owed by a Singaporean with factory located in China Nanjing (250km from Shanghai). Established in 2004, Boracs has a company strength of less than 30 staff comprising of administration, technical engineering, CAD, export sales, QA and production. Boracs competes with the famous industrial brand names in the world arena through our international network of resellers located in over 20 countries.
Boracs has the long-term commitment of producing high quality racking products to meet international standards. It is probably the only supplier in China who conducts its own in-house safety load tests. With this quality and safety commitment on our products, interns will be exposed to real-life industrial challenge of designing steel structures within safety standards.
The Internship
The intern shall work independently with minimal guidance from an assistant engineer. He/She shall do research to analyse the different types of warehouse racking systems in terms of loading strength and structural stability. He/she shall be exposed to CAD assignments, source for mechanical formulae to estimate loading capacity and deflection of steel components. Initial training shall be provided to familiarise the intern with different types of racking system structures.
The Requirements
Final year engineering students with good academic results in steel structural analysis may apply. We are looking for individuals with the following qualities:
- Well-versed in English & Chinese, both written and oral
- Pleasant personality with good communication skill
- Good analytical mind
- Independent, extremely resourceful, goal-driven and self-motivated
- Good CAD & Mircosoft Excel skills
- Interest to work overseas (lodging & lunch on workdays provided)
