Job Description

Are you seeking a unique opportunity to contribute meaningfully and inspire action towards a City of Good? Join our Strategy & Policy team to lead our governance and planning function. In this role, you will lead and manage Board-related matters to ensure good corporate governance and active engagement with Board members.

We are looking for candidates who are motivated by their dedication to the sector and who are driven to help NVPC make a difference on a national scale by growing a culture of giving.

They will take on projects as needed and support colleagues in business planning and risk management initiatives.

Board Relations

  • Serve as the Board Secretary for the NVPC Board, Exco and Nominations Committee. Responsibilities include planning meetings and retreats, preparing meeting materials, taking minutes, and tracking matters arising from meetings.
  • Develop and implement strategies to actively engage the NVPC Board through events and initiatives.
  • Coordinate the biennial board renewal process, including updating the skills assessment matrix, tracking of Board members' tenure, identification of new Board members, and serving as the POC with MCCY for review and approval.
  • Support scheduling across teams and with key Board members, tracking RSVPs and maintaining final attendee lists as needed.
  • Working with the external corporate secretary, maintain proper and complete corporate secretarial records.
  • Implement good corporate governance practices in accordance with the Code of Governance for Charities and ensuring statutory compliance as stipulated by ACRA.
  • Support other compliance-related matters, including the AGM (conducted via email), Board resolutions, provision of Board documents for audits, submissions to the Charity Portal, coordination of Charity awards and updates to the website.
  • Manage and establish standards and guidelines for Board-related matters.
  • Coordinate with and mentor secretariats for other Board committees (HR, Audir & Risk, Finance, Digital) to share best practices and ensure consistency in processes.

Planning Project Management

  • Assist the Director of Strategy & Research with coordination support for new initiatives and innovation projects.
  • Conduct research, compile findings, and provide topline analysis on best practices, global and regional benchmarks, and case studies. Organise and package information for presentations.
  • Liaise with partners and internal teams to access and summarise relevant use case information, plan discussions across partners and teams, and serve as scribe to note and track key follow-up actions.

Strategy Team Support (as needed)

  • Support risk management matters including Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework, PDPA, and secretariat support to Audit Committee as needed
  • Support corporate planning initiatives including work planning, dashboard reporting, and liaison with MCCY as needed

Qualifications

  • Degree in Business Administration or similar with at least 5 years of relevant working experience
  • Experience in Corporate Secretarial, Governance, PDPA, Enterprise Risk and Business Continuity management is an advantage
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
  • Effective presentation skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Knowledge in relevant regulatory such as Code of Governance for Charity, Charity Act, ERM and PDPA will be added advantage
