Join us in the immersive walkthrough event inspired by the beauty and unique storytelling of “Avatar,” the highest-grossing film of all-time globally where Guests journey through the alien world of Pandora witnessing its bioluminescent environments, engaging with its mystical creatures and flora, and sharing in the captivating culture of its indigenous people, the Na’vi.
We are seeking talented Arts and Theatre Management students to join us to deliver the Avatar experience as Docents & Puppeteer experience, handling the baby banshee.
- Rotating the role between docents and puppeteers
- Delivering the puppet performance using the animatronics puppet and "bringing it to life".
- Delivering scripted content
- Encourage guest involvement and participation through the delivery of experience
- Engage crowd when performing the role of docent
- Assist in operational requirements over at venue (Gardens by the Bay)
- Ensure smooth management of overall event through adhering to safety/ crisis managment, daily incident reporting, and other duties as required.
- Extend welcome and provide information to guests
- Conduct guided tours for visitors / VIPs.
- Lead up storytelling of the Na'vi Folklore
Docents & Puppeteers are important component, contributing to the experience, serve as storytellers, introducing the Avatar Experience and its collection to visitors and inspiring them towards a greater appreciation of the event.
- Passion, enthusiasm, patience, flexibility, and the ability to take a visitor-centered approach to touring.
- To be a successful docents, interpersonal skills, skilled at interacting with visitors of all ages and interested in working as a member of a team are important elements.
- Committed to learning ways of engaging visitors, and are willing to make the necessary commitments to both training and touring.
- Possess good public speaking skills, ability to engage crowd and public
- Able to interpret stories behind the art
- During the training, you will get lots of practice and advice on how to conduct an effective tour. Specific tips, coaching and regular practice will help you gain confidence and learn this style of public speaking
