Job Description

The Automation Technician is responsible for the repair and maintenance of the automated machines in the warehouse that are electrical and mechanically related which include the automated sortation conveyor belt systems.

He/She will monitor the system and machine health and ensure that regular maintenance and updates are conducted.

Responsibilities

  • Equipment Installation, Maintenance and Troubleshooting 
  • Understand and identify mechanical system components e.g. motors, VFDs, conveyor belts and structural fittings
  • Assist in installation and replacement of parts when required
  • Source for spare parts if required for quick turnaround
  • Perform troubleshooting, repair and servicing of equipment when required
  • Conduct routine maintenance checks to ensure overall health of machine and system
  • Coordinate and work with vendor(s) to rectify major component system failures
  • Investigate and identify the root cause of failures and provide solutions to mitigate future occurrences

 

Requirements

  • 1 - 2 years of servicing and repair experience is preferable
  • Diploma in any field
  • Good team player with ability to interact with all levels
  • Good analytical skills with a positive attitude to take on challenges / responsibilities
  • Self-motivated, proactive and results oriented
