INTERNSHIP (SENSORS PROJECT), SINGAPORE
An internship opportunity is available in our organization in the Product Management Department within the Factory Automation Division. The intern will be engaged in an interesting project and assigned a supervisor that will provide mentorship and coaching throughout the attachment period.
A brief of the internship as follow:
Ultrasonic sensor characterization and algorithm development
Outcomes: Familiarize yourself with a TDK ultrasonic Time-of-Flight sensor and the algorithms for distance estimation.
Tasks:
- After using the pre-determined algorithm, create new transmission pulses optimized for shorter range, faster measurement, phase analysis
- Create and test reference scenarios
- Create simple “proof of concept” evaluation, using envelope analysis
- Add object multiple peak recognition and tracking over multiple analyses
- Add interference avoidance (pseudo-random timing and evaluation)
- Create object selection: Closest relevant object, furthest relevant object, largest object
- Add phase analysis and fine distance measurement, goal is resolution < 0.25 mm
Prerequisites: Understanding of Signal processing, Matlab and optionally C.
At the end of the internship, students will be eligible for a Student Recognition Award** based on performance rating and supervisor's recommendation.
