Job Description

The Game Tester will provide detailed feedback and test scores to help the Acquisitions Team make informed decisions about acquiring new game products. The ideal candidate is passionate about gaming, highly analytical, and has a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Game Evaluation:*

• Play and evaluate a variety of games to determine their overall quality, playability, and market potential.

• Conduct thorough testing to identify bugs, glitches, and other issues that may affect game performance and user experience.

• Assess various aspects of the games, including graphics, sound, gameplay mechanics, storylines, and user interface.

2. Reporting and Documentation:*

• Create detailed and comprehensive reports on each game tested, highlighting strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.

• Submit test scores and evaluations based on predefined criteria and scoring systems.

• Participate in meetings to discuss game evaluations and provide insights and recommendations.

Requirements for the Game Tester Role:

Education and Experience:

  1. Educational Background: A degree or diploma in Game Design, Computer Science, Interactive Media, or a related field is preferred.
  2. Experience: Previous experience in game testing, quality assurance, or a similar role within the gaming industry is highly desirable.
  • Passion for Gaming: Deep understanding and enthusiasm for a wide range of video games across various genres and platforms.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze and evaluate game mechanics, graphics, sound, and overall playability.
  • Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail to identify bugs, glitches, and other issues that may affect game performance and user experience.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for creating detailed reports and providing clear feedback.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with game testing tools and software, and a basic understanding of programming and game development processes.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify potential problems and suggest effective solutions.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within a team and participate in discussions to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Time Management: Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple games and meet deadlines for reports and evaluations.
