About the Team:

The Global Data Supervisory Department (aka GDSD) oversees the development and operation of our data platform in Rakuten group. We provide data products and platforms for Rakuten’s line of businesses, as well as technology solutions.

GDSD services are important to Rakuten as it has big contribution to Rakuten's profit and being one of the key drivers for growing various platform businesses of Rakuten Group including our e-commerce platform business.

We are looking for Business Intelligence Analyst - Intern, who is passionate to deal with technical challenges and who are interested to work closely in the fast pacing business environment.

Responsibilities:

· Work with data engineers and architect to understand business questions, processes, and related data

· Convert the information into measurable report deliverables and business goals

· Analyze and understand business requirements to envision best fit visualization solution

· Deliver analytics and visualization solution that meet criteria for business value and reusability

· Analyze data to develop predictive models and identify data patterns and trends

· Translate complex findings into simple visualisations and recommendations for execution by operational teams and executives

· Prepare training documents for report utilization and information consumption by business

· Assist in other ad-hoc analytics projects

Minimum Qualifications:

· Student of Business, Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or other quantitative fields

· knowledge of data analytics processes – data engineering, modelling, visualization

· Excellent data visualization hands-on with strong presentation and story-telling skills

· hands-on SQL: ability to write clean, structured, and high-performance SQL code

· Expertise on BI tools and building reports (Google Datastudio is preferred)

· Experience with extracting and aggregating data from large data sets using SQL

· Experience in understanding and analyzing data using programming languages (e.g., Python, Spark)

· Good verbal and written communication skills in English

· A passion for emerging technologies related to data and machine learning
