Prepare and align equipment specification with relevant stakeholder. Follow up with equipment supplier of the same specifications and establish deviation list. Evaluate new and existing equipment supplier with their development roadmaps and give recommendation on how they may fit into REC technology roadmap.Perform factory acceptance test on purchased equipment. Produce test protocols and align with vendor of best way moving forward in case of non-conformities. Perform onsite acceptance test on the same equipment once its arrives. Responsible to work with equipment vendors during installation/commissioning to ensure that timeline is followed according to plan.Be part of the in-house development of new equipment that can replace existing tools with a low cost options which give REC a larger control of future developments of the same tool.Engineer needs to have a keen eye on equipment workflow and be able to understand how REC process flow is connected to the machine specifications and the importance to fulfill them.
Tasks
- Evaluate machines and populate the equipment selection matrix.
- Sources for alternative equipment vendors in the allocated machine segments.
- Understand REC machine specifications and perform test accordingly to verify the equipment functions.
- Follow up with vendor on equipment assembly and evaluate whether they are following project timelines.
Safety
- Comply with the companys safety protocol at all times.
- Understand REC priority on safety and highlight any safety risk on the equipment.
- Participate in projects related to safety improvement
Communication and Presentation
- Ability to communicate and present at all levels of the organization
Others
Perform other duties as assigned. Duties will vary depending on how the investment proposals develop. Temporary location outside Singapore possible depending on expansion locations.
Keep up-to-date on new equipment development in assigned machine segments.
Develop a working relationships in assigned equipment segment.
Qualifications
Minimum bachelors degree in mechanical/electrical/mechatronic Engineering.
Minimal two years of experience in Solar Industry or similar industry
Knowledge and hands-on experience in equipment.
Excellent team player
Good presentation, interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to gather and review resources and select and synthesize data for reports and other written materials.
High level of accuracy with special attention to detail Proficiency in Microsoft office applications such as Word, Excel and power point
Ability to work with limited supervision and through extended hours when needed to meet business commitments
Genuine interest in tackle new challenges in a changing market
Readiness to travel overseas for long term (6 months to 1 year)
Proactive working attitude
Working experience in Equipment for Solar is preferable.
Proficient in Software statistical tools is an added advantage (JMP, AutoCad, SolidWorks etc)
