We are looking for an R&D Engineer, with a keen mind for R&D design of solar module products. The candidate will be responsible for developing theoretical models to assess module performance based on electrical, thermal and environmental behaviour of module BOM. The candidate should be able to predict CTM loss of a module and identify high efficiency cost effective, reliable BOM to improve module performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- In-depth understanding of module process – structure – materials relations and degradation mechanism of PV module.
- Develop test protocols and improve reliability of existing and new PV products.
- To analyze performance of the module based on electrical, EL and reliability test data and correlate with the materials behavior.
- Work with a cross functional team to develop test plans, analyze test data, guide failure analysis, and quantify reliability and lifetime projections of photovoltaic module.
- Build-up and conduct simulations and modelling to reduce CTM losses to improve module level energy yield.
- Knowledge and experience in modeling/simulation software is required.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist R&D and process teams with technical analyses, troubleshooting and improvement projects.
- Plan, coordinate and execute product enhancements to module design with external collaborators.
- Drive project schedule and technical enquiries. Strategize testing/characterization methods.
Qualifications
- MSc / PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering or Materials Science Field.
- Min. 5 years relevant experience from Research / Engineering background
- Expertise in Electrical and flow simulation using SolidWorks/ AnSys.
- Knowledge in characterization / PV Modeling and analysis.
- Possess excellent project management skills, keeping track of key milestones and deliverables and providing regular updates to management team.
- Knowledge of statistical data analysis methods and DOE
- Excellent team worker
- Ability to co-operate with different professionals (operations, equipment suppliers, technology institutes, supply chain, operation)
- Working experience in Solar/Semiconductors/Electronics manufacturing industries is an advantage, but not necessary
ADDITIONAL ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS:
Product Reliability Test Design: Familiar with reliability tests, e.g. Damp-heat, Temp Cycle, Humidity Freeze, Light induced degradation, mechanical load tests, thermal shock.
Failure Analysis: Leading FA from technical part. In-depth understanding of module process –property relations, and the degradation mechanism in actual application
Creating test methodology to analyze failure samples and find out root cause.
