Background

Replacement of car air filter is required to ensure sufficient ventilation and good cabin air quality while driving. Tracking of the filter’s health is highly anticipated to ensure drivers (and passengers) have the maximum air pollution protection all the time. Current study is related to the development of an intelligent cabin filter for air quality and filter life sensing.

Job Description

Assist and support research activities in the development of an intelligent cabin filter for automobiles.

The tasks includes:

• Optimization of prototype (both hardware and software) in the laboratory
• Collection and synthesis of sensor data
• Algorithm tuning and optimization through field study
• UX evaluation and improvement
• Perform other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications

• Engineering background
• Ability to work independently, accurately and to solve technical issues that arise during the course of the research
• High level of responsibility to complete tasks in a timely manner
• Willingness to learn new software and research techniques as needed
• Experience with data analytics is a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Proficient in programming, e.g. Python or C++ will be advantageous
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Able to commit to the entire internship period.

Eligibility

• Applicant must be enrolled throughout internship period, or plan to pursue further studies
• For foreign students studying in Singapore on Student's Pass, you must fulfill the following requirements to be able to do full-time internship during the school term:
  • You are a full-time matriculated or registered student in one of the approved institutions.
  • You hold a Student Pass issued by the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA).
  • The internship is under an industrial attachment programme conducted by your university or educational institution. • For foreign students studying overseas, you must be eligible for the Work Holiday Programme (WHP)
  • Between 18 to 25 years old (inclusive) as of date of WHP application
