Roco Communications – Media Coordinator Intern

With HSBC Singapore Rugby Sevens, HSBC Women’s World Championship and Women’s Amateur Asia-Pacific joining our client roster, Roco Communications is on the hunt for an intern to join our dynamic team.

This is a great opportunity for an ambitious communications specialist to hone their skills working on some major sporting events along with international and local brands.

A grasp of traditional and non-traditional media, keen interest in social media along with a sound understanding and/or interest in the influencer space, is a must for our latest recruit.

You are a communicator that takes pride in your work through strong attention to detail. You will be confident building relationships with the team, clients, media and influencers. You are comfortable sharing ideas and beliefs, with your enthusiastic, can-do approach to work making you the ideal fit for busy agency life.

Job description

• Support client service team on the day-to-day management of accounts
• Copywriting for event listings, competitions and social media posts
• Manage client reporting i.e. WIPs and conference reports
• Compilation of media coverage reports
• Daily summary of relevant news, trends, and insights for each client
• Assist with research and share ideas when brainstorming for existing or potential clients
• Influencer research and engagement
• Keep our master media contact list up to date
• Media pitching and liaison
• Be a part of the team working at client events

 Skills required

• Public relations or communications background necessary
• Final year student preferably with prior internship experience
• Strong writing skills – provide samples with application
• Interpersonal skills equipped for client service, media liaison and working within a team environment
• Eagerness to learn and grow
• Proactive with the ability to think on your own

• Interested in sport
• Bilingual, ability to speak Mandarin and read/write Chinese
