We are looking for undergraduates who are fulfilling their credit bearing internships to join us and support our R&D activities through the execution of application studies in the area of pharmaceutical dosage forms to demonstrate/evaluate the functional value of our solutions.
The main responsibility of this role is to support R&D activities within the technical application scope and work with technical application scientists on internal/external customer projects. The candidate will undertake the following with the partnership and guidance of Roquette scientists.
- Design and develop innovative science-based solutions in pharmaceutical applications such as tableting, granulation, coating, freeze-drying, etc.
- Develop application solutions and laboratory studies to support customer’s needs with scientific evidence
- Conduct formulation, process and/or analytical development experiments based on a predefined DOE (Design of Experiment).
- Execute experiments in the pharmaceutical laboratory involving formulation, processing and analysis of small molecule pharmaceuticals or nutraceuticals.
- Operate state-of-the-art pharma manufacturing and/or analytical instruments.
- Collect, analyze, interpret and report data and experimental findings.
- Work within cross-functional project teams.
- Provide general laboratory and administrative support to facilitate the Center’s daily operations.
Training Provided:
- Hands-on operation of pharmaceutical processes, and raw materials/product characterization and analysis.
- Creation of basic DOE for product formulation, process and/or analytical optimization.
- Troubleshooting, modification, and maintenance of experimental apparatus / equipment.
- Understanding of requirements for pharmaceutical laboratories operations.
- Exposure to good documentation practices, inventory maintenance, good lab safety practices, and maintenance and general upkeep of the laboratories.
- General understanding and appreciation of corporate team culture and dynamics in a global company.
