Safran Electronics & Defense Services Asia Pte Ltd is the leading repair and overhaul shop for avionics and electrical components, and Safran Group’s first avionics Centre of Excellence in the Asia Pacific. 

Our main business segments are in the repair and overhaul of Safran Group OEM avionics and repair of third-party OEM avionics such as Honeywell, Thales, Rockwell Collins and BAE Systems. We are also the Authorized Repair Station for Airbus Avionics, L-3 Comm and Saft Batteries. Our 6,000 Sqm facility is equipped with multiple automatic test benches such as 4 ATEC Serie6, 1 ATEC 5000, ATS182, ITS700 and AVTRON. It is designed for expansion of capabilities to handle next-generation aircraft such as Boeing 787 Dreamliner and Airbus A350.

Our customer base includes 85 airline customers with approvals by various airworthiness authorities including Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), Civil Aviation Authority of China (CAAC), Department of Civil Aviation Malaysia (DCA Malaysia) and Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT).

With more than 3,000 repair and overhaul capabilities covering most Airbus (including A380 and A350), Boeing (including 787 Dreamliner) and ATR 42/72 aircraft types, we provide comprehensive solutions for airlines and aftermarket fleet management solution providers.

Job Description

Role Description 

The Logistics Intern reports to the Logistics Team Lead. This position provides the opportunity to gain knowledge and hone skills in logistics and warehouse operations for a leading aerospace company.

 

Specific Responsibilities 

a) Inventory space designing, planning and coordination

b) Professional handling of inventory received

c) Development of inventory processes and organization plan

d) Active hands-on coordination and management of inventory processes and organization, including assessment of potential technical challenges and development of appropriate mitigation and resolution plan

f) Establishing liaison and positive relations with external forwarders

g) Liaising with internal stakeholders

h) Proper documentation, handling, sorting and archiving of all records and paperwork pertaining to these activities

i) Reporting any discrepancies and non-conformity to the logistics lead / supply chain manager

j) Participation in adhoc requirements / investigations related to inventory and warehouse activities

k) Observation and application of safety at the workplace standards (such as wearing PPE), work instruction and procedure.

l) Complying with all health, safety and environment (HSE) regulations as prescribed by law and company’s policies

m) Active participation and contribution to HSE initiatives & Corporate HSE programs and in HSE risk communications & mitigations as well as Continuous Improvement efforts

c) Hands-on experience in physical inventory organisation and management

d) Honing ability to prioritize and deliver projects on time

e) Developing technical, interpersonal and communication skills through the use of computerised systems and managing stakeholder relations

f) Developing creative problem solving skills and innovation 

g) Honing capacity to be able to work independently as well as in a team

h) Exposure to project management and processes from start to completion

i) Exposure to use of applications such as Power BI and SAP B1

j) Exposure to the aviation industry
