Samaritans of Singapore (SOS) is dedicated to providing confidential emotional support to individuals facing a crisis, thinking about or affected by suicide. We’re non-religious and not for profit, our work focuses on crisis intervention and suicide prevention.
Our services include, 24-hour hotline and Care Text text-based service that provide round-the-clock emotional support for those in distress and the service is manned by our trained volunteers. These services are supported on a Microsoft Dynamics 365 IT architecture.
The intern will be supporting the Finance team in SOS’s accounting and reporting works.
1. Processing and booking of all accounting transactions
Ability to ensure procedures are followed for all transactions according to the Finance Manual and the transactions are posted accurately in a timely manner which includes the following:
- Banking transactions
- Staff and volunteers' expense claim
- Suppliers’ invoices Incoming funds
2. Fixed assets management
Assign fixed assets code and affix tagging to new assets acquired. Assist in physical fixed assets checking and disposal.
3. Procurement
Maintain and ensure compliance with the procurement procedures and ensure proper documentation for audit purposes.
Intern’s Requirements
Undergraduates from the Accountancy faculty
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Experience in processing and booking of accounting transactions
Procurement and general administration skills
