Job Overview:
As the 3D Printing Farm Intern, you will be working with SHARE at NTU. The global company SCHAEFFLER has established a new R&D center at NTU and besides many robotic topics we are also building up a “3D printing farm” within our own prototype workshop areas. You will be heavily involved in developing and establishing a network connection with all 3D printing machines to the company internal network system. You will also be given the opportunity to learn how to monitor the status of the printing farm through one GUI or open-source platforms (e.g., Octoprint in a first step) and to monitor print process with attached or inbuild cameras. You will be crucial in driving the project to connect varies 3D printers to the internal Schaeffler network and to be able to control and monitor each machine remotely (e.g., from the office desk).
- Establish connectivity through LAN or WLAN from 3D printers to Schaeffler network.
- Use one GUI to control and monitor the machine status of each printer.
- Modify existing hardware in case of e.g., no connection or monitoring capabilities.
Our Ideal Candidate:
- Knowledge in 3D printing.
- Minimum commitment of 6 months from May 2022.
- Knowledge in in programming micro controllers (e.g. Raspberry).
- Hands on attitude.
- Willingness to learn new things and take on challenges.
