Job Description

Our mobile robot is deployed with the Robot Operating System (ROS). The objective of this project is to design and develop software for the next generation of the Schaeffler AMR. This new-gen mobile robot will be more versatile and adaptive.

You will be involved in upgrading our current software packages built on ROS1 to ROS2 and possibly integrating new features. Your internship starts with getting to know our robots and current ROS packages in detail. You will then learn and evaluate new packages in ROS2 (simulation, localization, navigation, vision, etc.) through practical tests on our demo units.

You will learn on how to test and verify the changes in the simulation environment as well as on our robots.

Prerequisites:

  • Willingness to learn new things and possess a passion for robotics
  • Self-motivated and willing to work with a distributed team to break new ground
  • Resourceful and creative in self learning
  • Experience in Python and/or C++ 
  • Experience in Linux and Robot Operating System (ROS1 and/or ROS2)
  •  Experience with mobile robots or robotics arm
