Schaeffler has always been an active member in numerous research and development effort into AMRs, yet there are ever-rising complexity and diversity of the use cases. The objective of this project is to design and develop the next generation of the Schaeffler AMRs. This new-gen mobile robot will not only be more versatile and adaptive in its usage (e.g. complex good transportation, task-oriented and safe operation, etc.), also more intelligent with the use of many cutting-edge technologies in perception (e.g., 2D and 3D Lidars, Realsense cameras, etc.), in mechatronics (high-performance and high-precision motors and actuators) and in computation (e.g. AI-based vision and control).
The goal of this internship position is to contribute to the synergy in designing, building and testing this next-generation Industrial AMRs and be a pro-active member of the pioneering Schaeffler AMR research team at SHARE at NTU.
Prerequisites:
- Knowledge and experience in electrical, electronic and/or robotic development
- Hands-on mindset with high attention to details;
- Familiar or competent in one or more common programming languages used in robotics, e.g. C, C++, Python, etc.
- Knowledge and experience in programming micro-controllers (e.g. Arduino, ARM, ESP32) will be a plus;
- Willingness to learn new things and readiness to take up new skills as the job demands
