The HR trainee works closely with the APAC HR team and key support functions, contributes to their success in achieving business objectives by supporting administration and operations of Human Resources, Learning and Employee Engagement functions so as to build a capable workforce that will be committed to delivering Bank’s strategies and promoting Scotiabank as an employer of choice.
Employee Engagement, Talent Management
- Manage project, influence stakeholders and monitor timeline to ensure successful implementation of Talent Management, Employee Engagement roll outs
- Communicate and present project objectives, purposes and milestones to drive results
- Assist and co-ordinate on research and drive employee well-being initiatives
- Gathers, analyzes and interprets data and metrics of Scotiabank bi-annual Engagement Survey
- Prepare results presentation and extract all relevant reports required
Learning & Development
- Assist in the implementation of holistic and comprehensive learning solutions using self-paced learning, virtual/classroom training.
- Suggest creative ideas and draft concise and effective email communication on HR related matters to employees
- Involve in the end-to-end implementation of learning solutions that cater to business requirements, support tracking of effectiveness post implementation
- Conduct in depth research using world’s leading research portal and develop materials for training
- Collate learning statistics on completion and to follow up to ensure all mandatory learnings are completed timely.
HR Branding and Communications
- Support communications in HR Branding such as thought-piece sharing of HR initiatives and activities, wellbeing articles
- Assist in maintaining the APAC Communication distribution list
Data Reporting & Analytics
- Leverage on excel functions and tools to prepare various HR reporting for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Engagement, Training, Talent and Performance management etc
HR Business Partner (HRBP) Support - Recruitment and Onboarding
- Leverage online portals such as Linkedin, MyCareerfuture to source and shortlist candidates. Arrange and schedule interviews with hiring manager.
- Update Welcome kit and orientation deck for new hires based on changes in policies, strategies and financial announcements.
- Provide administration support where necessary as a HRBP Support
Education / Experience / Other Information
- Completion of university degree, preferably in Business Management/ Human Resource
- Prior HR internship experience would be preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, with strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong organizational skills, time-management skills, and ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks as short-timelines are expected
- Self-Starter, meticulous with strong ability to follow-through on projects and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
- Good interpersonal skills and must possess well-developed written and oral communication skills
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing processes and identifying areas for continuous improvement
