About our group:
RMO Material Science Laboratory’s primary mission is to provide analytical test solutions to enable media and product qualification on product yield, quality, and reliability. The team also serves a critical role on HDM tribology, contamination, and defect reduction, working closely with and enabling other functions in the disciplines of Mechanical, Electrical, Recording Technology, R&D, Customer Integration, and Manufacturing. About the role - you will:
- Engage in material characterization metrology, including Ellipsometer Spectroscopic, Raman Spectroscopy, X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy, and Scanning Electron Microscopy.
- Collaborate on team focusing to support measurement focus on media Carbon overcoat characterization.
- Conduct material science lab testing, operate analytical instruments, and analyze thin film material properties.
- Provide technical and engineering support, contributing to the successful completion of complex analytical projects.

Your experience includes:
- Currently pursuing bachelor’s degree in Material Science, Physics, or a related field.
- Foundational knowledge in thin film material characterization techniques.
- Familiarity with analytical lab instruments and statistical analysis is an advantage.
- Experience in programming languages (e.g., MATLAB, Python, SQL, JMP) and proficiency in data analysis and Six Sigma methodologies is preferred.

Our Woodlands site is one of the largest electronics manufacturing sites in Singapore, housing our recording media operations.
