Singapore Children’s Society protects and nurtures children and youth of all races and religions. In 2021, the Society reached out to 19,973 children, youth and families in need. Established in 1952, its services have evolved to meet the changing needs of children.

The Advocacy Intern will be attached to the Research and Advocacy Department (RAD). The intern will help with projects that the RAD undertakes, and will be exposed to public education, advocacy and research in a social service setting. These projects evolve around themes, such as child abuse and neglect prevention, child participation, mental wellness and positive parenting.
Role and Responsibility :
- Engage in desk research on topics and themes to support the unit’s work.
- Support the conceptualization and design of public education materials (related to parenting and children and youth well-being) to be put up on social media platforms. Formats of these materials can range from 2D graphics to videos.
- Support in the editing of audio content for our podcast series, ParenTIPS.
- Support in editorial and social media content for the Singapore Children’s Forum.
- Support in the organization of events such as the Singapore Children’s Society Lecture, and the Singapore Children’s Forum project showcase.
- There might be some instances when intern is required to work outside these official hours, and off-in-lieu hours will be compensated.
Requirements:
- Good writing skills.
- Flair for marketing and publishing on social media platforms and content generation.
- Have a heart for social causes and issues faced by children, youth and their families.
- Knowledge of basic design work, e.g. infographics, illustration, simple video and sound editing, is a plus.
- Independent worker who can also contribute well to the team.
- Student to be fully vaccinated under MOH guidelines at the start of IWSP
