Singapore Children’s Society protects and nurtures children and youth of all races and religions. In 2021, the Society reached out to 19,973 children, youth and families in need. Established in 1952, its services have evolved to meet the changing needs of children.

Interns can expect to be assigned tasks that range from data collection to doing literature reviews, note-taking, transcribing collected data, fact-checking and writing reports. There will be opportunities to attend meetings and discussions, and to network with and learn from senior researchers.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
To support the work of the Research Unit in areas such as:
- Data collection
- Transcribing audio recordings that have been collected by any project assigned to intern
- Conducting literature searches, literature reviews, bibliographical compilations, and obtaining references and articles from libraries
- Assist with fact-checking for various research projects
- Contribute to the collation and analysis of research findings
- Assist with organisation of in-house events
- Collaborate on the development and execution of online content (infographics, social media content etc.)
- Assist with various administrative tasks and other supporting / relevant duties on an ad-hoc basis as directed and assigned by the supervisor
Requirements:
- Possess a keen interest in children and youth affairs and policy in Singapore
- Keen in developing research skills
- Be highly motivated with a strong sense of initiative
- Responsible individuals who are able to keep to deadlines
- Maintain project data confidentiality
- Demonstrated aptitude and experience in computer skills including use and understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
- Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills; ability to communicate clearly with various personnel to share/ gather information
- Professional and positive attitude
Work Schedule:
- Mondays - Fridays
- 9.30 am - 6.30 pm
