Job Description

We are looking for highly motivated interns to support our research at the forefront of metal additive manufacturing (AM) and advanced material design. Interns will engage in a range of tasks, from basic responsibilities like data preparation and assisting with 3D printing operations, to advanced projects involving machine learning, automation, and microstructure analysis. Our research focuses on improving the quality of printed parts, tailoring multi-principal alloys for optimal performance, and advancing powder bed fusion for challenging refractory metals. This involves multidisciplinary work across materials science, mechanical engineering, software development, and data analytics, all aimed at developing innovative solutions to streamline our R&D processes and enhance the capabilities of metal 3D printing.

Interns eager to explore the full scope of our work should ideally have a background in mechanical engineering, materials science, AI, or machine learning. However, we welcome interns with proficiency in at least one of these areas and a strong drive to deepen their expertise or broaden their skills into related fields. This internship offers an ideal opportunity for students to gain exposure to various engineering disciplines and contribute to impactful projects with real-world applications.

Application Instructions
Interested applicants should preferably have an engineering portfolio (e.g codes, CADs, school/personal projects) to showcase their technical strengths, and have thought about how they wish to contribute to and learn from the department in a potential internship.
Internship stipends are based on current education status, skillsets, and upon agreement. For applications, please directly contact Wang Pan (), Senior Scientist II and ARIA Career Mentor, A*STAR
