Job Description

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated intern to join our team for a 6 month internship. The primary responsibility of the intern will be conducting experimental work on the development and characterization of PLA composites for 4D printing applications. This hands-on role will involve material preparation, testing, and analysis of shape memory properties, contributing to cutting-edge research in 4D printing technology.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Perform experimental work on PLA composites, including preparation, processing, and mechanical testing.

Analyze the shape memory behavior of materials and their suitability for 4D printing applications.

Collaborate with researchers to integrate experimental findings into broader research initiatives.

Document experimental results and prepare reports for research and publication purposes.


Requirements:

 

Hands-on experience in materials testing, preferably in polymer composites.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in experimental procedures.

Basic knowledge of shape memory polymers and 4D printing (preferred but not required).

Ability to work independently in a laboratory setting and collaborate within a team.


Qualifications:

 

Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Demonstrated interest in additive manufacturing technologies and polymer composites.

Familiarity with laboratory equipment and techniques for materials characterization.

Duration and Location:

 

Duration: 6 months (with possibility of extension)

Location: SIMTech, Singapore
