The Singapore Red Cross is a homegrown humanitarian organisation, dedicated to relieving human suffering, protecting lives and dignity and responding to emergencies since 1949. We serve the vulnerable through our blood donor recruitment programme, home and day activity centre for the disabled, elder aid, transport aid, family life aid, community health on wheels and community first aid. We build capacity and resilience through our training academy, and volunteer and youth development. Beyond our shores, we mobilise and translate contributions from the donor community to relief and recovery, rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts, with the aim of helping communities affected by disasters.
JOB PURPOSE
Family LifeAid is one of the five arms of community engagement under Red Cross. It aims to engage vulnerable families in Singapore to increase their social, emotional, and financial resilience through various programs that address their holistic needs. One of the programs under Family LifeAid is Young Hearts (YH), which aims to inculcate self-reliance and empower children and youth from lower-income families through tuition programmes and enrichment opportunities.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1.Providing support to coordinators during tuition sessions and YH programmes
2.Assist and handle administrative tasks
3.Conduct research to support the planning for programme
4.Address beneficiaries’ inquiries and cultivate positive relationships with them
5.Support other programmes if needed

•Understand operations management process which will include programme facilitationand coordination
•Develop interpersonal skills through interacting with beneficiaries and variousstakeholders
2.Expectations:
•Ability to prioritise work responsibilities/multitask, organise own work schedule
•Think on the feet, make decisions and carry out responsibilities without the need fordirect supervision
•Communicate, negotiate, and engage professionally and confidently with people fromall walks of life
•Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to tailor keymessages and adopt different approaches for different audiences
•Able to deliver a high level of customer service skills and a keen eye for detail
•Exhibits maturity, sincerity, and passion to work with donors, community partners,volunteers, as well as families, children and seniors who are facing challenges
•Able to work on weeknights and weekends when required
3.Additional skills and knowledge
•Demonstrated interest in the non-profit/charity sector
•Familiarity with the social service landscape
•Experience in project or event management will be advantageous
•Familiarity with software such as MS Office and Google Apps
•Candidate(s) with a history of relevant voluntary/internship experience will have an added advantage
