BACKGROUND
The Singapore Red Cross’s (SRC’s) Blood Donor Recruitment Programme (BDRP) works in partnership with the Health Sciences Authority’s Blood Services Group (BSG) to educate, recruit, retain, and recognise blood donors as part of our role as the National Blood Programme’s national recruiter.
With blood donors currently making up less than 2% of Singapore’s residential population, there is an ongoing and urgent need to build a sustainable donor pool towards ensuring a healthy and constant supply of safe blood at all times. To that end, BDRP’s mission is aligned with the following objectives:
- Educate the general public on the importance of blood donation towards converting and recruiting eligible new donors
- Ensuring new and first-time donors are retained and converted to regular donors
- Recognising regular and champion blood donors and, in turn, inspiring and retaining a new generation of blood donors
- Working with key partners to ensure blood donation is convenient, safe, and accessible through community blood-drives and group donations at bloodbanks
- Working with key partners to elevate blood donation as a key pillar of the national and organisational Total Defence, community building, philanthropy/charity, and healthcare agendas.
JOB PURPOSE
To support the Singapore Red Cross’ (SRC), Blood Donor Programme (BDP) marketing and partnership building efforts, with a special focus on youth-targeted content marketing as well as focusing on raising awareness of Blood Donor Programme services and activities.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Content Marketing
- Create youth-targeted content for various campaigns promoting blood donation, charity shop, and training courses working closely with relevant teams;
- Produce and draft articles, blog / vlog, social media content pieces emphasis on blood donor programme and importance of blood donation;
- Support content creation for festive occasions, and for trendjacking;
- Support SRC’s brand identity project, working closely with the in-house designer and Corporate Communications department;
- Support BDP’s events preparation to optimise brand visibility such as World Blood Donor Day 2022, blood mobile donation drives etc;
- Support the development of purpose-built collaterals for blood outreach opportunities;
- Provide marketing support and consultancy to relevant internal stakeholders.
JOB SPECIFICATION
- Qualifications
- Knowledge in Marketing/Mass Communications/Business Administration or a related discipline.
- Excellent written and spoken English and a 2nd language (Mandarin, Malay or Tamil) a plus
- Excellent computer literacy; in the use of Words, Excel and PowerPoint
- Design skills desirable.
