Smartease – Data Scientist Intern

This is a 8-week full-time internship programme. The intern will work on machine learning projects or topics decided by Smartease. The projects may involve technologies such as object detection in images/videos and recommender systems.

The intern must commit a minimum of 40 full-time work hours per week. He/She will develop A.I.-based products by building machine learning models using Python, performing analysis, summarizing results and make data-driven conclusions.

Requirements:

• Completed at least 1 year of studies as part of a Bachelor/Master course in a highly quantitative field (Data Science or Machine Learning strongly preferred). 
  • Candidates who have completed a 12-week Bootcamp-style course in Data Science are also welcome to apply.
• Proven technical proficiency in the Python language, preferably in the context of machine learning or data science.
• Substantial understanding of machine learning and/or image analytics and/or recommender systems, preferably tackled similar problems (e.g. in school or freelance projects).
• Exhibits an intellectual curiosity to ask insightful questions.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong team player.
• Willing to learn new technologies required to complete the tasks assigned.
• Hands-on experience in developing and deploying Deep Learning models (using TensorFlow) will be a significant advantage.
