The Job

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing HVAC Systems: ACMV Engineers are responsible for designing air-conditioning and mechanical ventilation systems for various types of buildings, taking into consideration factors like cooling load, airflow requirements, energy efficiency, and environmental regulations.
  • System Installation: Engineers may oversee the installation of HVAC equipment, ensuring that systems are properly installed according to design specifications and safety standards.
  • System Maintenance: Regular maintenance of HVAC systems is crucial for their efficient operation. ACMV Engineers develop maintenance schedules, conduct inspections, and address issues to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Troubleshooting and Repairs: When HVAC systems encounter problems or malfunctions, ACMV Engineers diagnose the issues, identify the root causes, and implement repairs or replacements as needed.
  • Energy Efficiency: Engineers work to optimize HVAC systems for energy efficiency, which involves selecting appropriate equipment, designing control strategies, and implementing technologies to reduce energy consumption.
  • Quality Control: ACMV Engineers oversee the quality of work done by contractors and ensure that installations meet the required standards and codes.
  • Project Management: For larger projects, ACMV Engineers may be involved in project management tasks such as budgeting, scheduling, coordinating with other professionals (architects, contractors, etc.), and ensuring that the project progresses smoothly.
  • Documentation: Keeping accurate records of system designs, maintenance activities, repairs, and upgrades is important for future reference and compliance with regulations.

Ideal Candidate

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering Or Nitec in Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration or similar discipline
  • Must have basic technical experience with knowledge in air-conditioning, chiller, ACMV or HVAC systems
  • Supervise and ensure proper installation works done by sub-contractor
  • Perform servicing, maintenance and troubleshooting of air-conditioning systems when required
  • Good team player with ability to lead and multi-task
  • Possess Class 3 driving license will be an added advantage
