The Job
As a Junior Art Director, you will be responsible for the visual creation of advertising campaigns, including print, TV and collateral material. This includes establishing the conceptual and stylistic direction for clients’ projects and orchestrating the work of production artists, photographers, illustrators, pre-press technicians, printers and anyone else who is involved in the development of a project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Copywriter to generate creative ideas and concepts to fulfil clients’ brief.
- Produce sketches or 'storyboards' (television) or 'scamps' (print) to communicate ideas to the clients.
- Gain an understanding of the target audience and business that the advertisement is aimed at.
- Meet with the Creative Director and Account Manager before presentation of ideas to clients.
- Pitch ideas to clients.
- Brief other members of the team.
- Commission photographers, artists or film-makers to work on projects.
- Visit and assess locations for potential shoots.
- Work on location.
- Attend meetings at production houses and with other directors.
- Work in editing suites to oversee the finished product.
- Creation and implementation of the visual design elements associated with brand positioning, public relations and strategic marketing for conveying clients’ unique message.
- Understanding of clients’ vision and ensuring its development by the team.
- Creation and administration of project schedules and budgets.
- Maximize the financial resources and earnings of both clients and company.
