Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Cluster Director of Finance to oversee the Finance and Accounting department of the hotel.
  • Ensure that the books, records and accounts are maintained accurately and fairly reflect the transactions and administration of the assets of the hotel.
  • Devise and maintain a system of internal accounting control sufficient to ensure that transactions are executed in accordance with Management’s general and specific authorisation and in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and specific country legislation.
  • Assist the Cluster Director of Financethe preparation of the hotel’s yearly operating budget
  • Assist the Cluster Director of Finance to ensure that books, records and accounts maintained accurately and fairly reflect the transactions and dispositions of the assets of the company
  • Review and certify any hotel internal/external financial reporting before their distribution and To assist the Cluster Director of Finance preparation of the hotel’s yearly operating budget
  • Ensure that the hotel hold all required licenses and permits to operate, all insurances as stipulated in management contract
  • Review all proposed contracts for pricing and terms (in the absence of the Cluster Director of Finance),ensuring that hotel’s interest comes first and is protected at all times
  • Provide assistance to other operational departments in the definition, implementation and follow-up of improved control tools
  • Ensure the hotel has adequate insurance policies in place as stipulated in the Management Agreement.
  • Facilitate the smooth running of the department through adequate supply of materials and equipment.
  • Adhere to the department budget through the Purchase Order System and inventory controls.
  • Pro-active in controlling costs being fully aware of forecasted business and targeted profitability whilst maintaining standards.
  • Preparing Month End reporting on hotel operations to Sofitel AP office and owner’s office inclusive of Cash flow forecast, Credit analysis and Profit & Loss analysis.
