SPH Media Limited – Data Science Intern

We're seeking a few highly-motivated and tech-savvy interns to join our team in developing and refining state-of-the-art generative AI utilities for our data-driven capabilities and services. If you're passionate about media, audience profiling, machine learning, data engineering, and automation, and have a solid foundation in Python programming, this could be the perfect opportunity for you! 

Description: The assignment is interdisciplinary and explores the uses of generative AI in media and user profiling. The ideal candidate profile should either be an aspiring data analyst who is keen on building real-world applications, or a business analyst or creative professional who's interested in exploring generative AI and its impact on their field. The project will involve analysing user data, designing and implementing a generative AI pipeline, and evaluating its performance on various metrics. Various aspects are being explored, including audience profiling and personalisation, zero-shot / few-shot annotation, content analytics (e.g. trend identification, topic clustering), knowledge extraction, newsroom automation and assistive tools etc The outcomes will include a prototype or working model, a detailed report, and recommendations for future applications.

Key responsibilities: Conducting research to explore novel generative AI techniques and their applications to audience profiling, strategy, automations and new media service offerings. Collecting and implementing data pipelines to extract insights from large datasets. Developing scripts and tools to automate repetitive tasks in data processing. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team (data science and newsrooms) to improve our data-driven services (e.g. content creation and strategy).
