The new Platform Applications team in SPH Media develops internal tooling and services that are used by other parts of the company. Some of the very exciting (!) services we are developing include a modern content-rendering stack, data-driven access control services, archival systems, first-party data collection, and real-time reporting.
As a software developer intern, you will be working on genuine, deliverable projects which are used by our business in day-to-day work. You will be under the direct mentorship of full-time software engineers, in a team with a focus on software quality. The technologies we mostly use are Python, TypeScript, React, Docker, Terraform, Playwright, Java, and various AWS services. You will also get real hands-on experience participating in the entire software development process.
We will need you to:
- Work with your team and mentor, and take ownership of the projects you will be working on
- Have an understanding of data structures and algorithms
- Have some programming experience, and have written small or medium programs
- Apply the new things you learn!
Ideally, you:
- Are able to create programs with Python, TypeScript, React, Java, or some of the other technologies we use
- Can explain and justify your technical decisions
- Are working towards a degree in computer science, information systems, or similar
