Interns can expect to work closely with desk editors and journalists to cover everything that matters to Singaporeans and residents. This includes housing, transport, education, community and human interest stories, among other areas. You will typically start off playing a supporting role, shadowing journalists on jobs / assignments. Interns who perform well will be assigned to cover jobs on their own. During your time with us, you will also learn how to write/structure stories and how to present information effectively.
Requirements:
Must have good writing and interpersonal skills, be willing to work irregular hours and on weekends/public holidays. Must have a keen interest in current affairs, local news and be comfortable with social media platforms.They must be able to think on their feet and react to news events.
Learning outcome:
You will learn how to talk to people from all walks of life, how to ask questions at press conferences and cover news events, process information, interview newsmakers. You will learn how to write stories for online and print, shoot simple videos, how to use social media to promote content.
Working hours: Interns will be rostered to work weekends and public holidays, OIL will be given for working on weekends/PH
