ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

There have been many delivery companies that are sprouting up all over Singapore. Yet, there are none that focus on selling authentic chinese food. If you love chinese food, and enjoy interacting with other people, this is a great chance to enter the F&B/ food delivery industry.Get close to all the insider information on the best chinese restaurants/eateries in Singapore, and at the same time brush up your communication skills, both in English and Mandarin. StarTaster is a Singapore-based online dining platform that centers on food delivery and restaurant reservation services, with a focus on Chinese food.

This role is a Customer Service/ Admin Assistant Intern, and you will be interning under the core department of StarTaster operations department. You will get to assume the important role of communicating with merchants and consumers, and administration tasks. Love the Chinese culture and their amazing food? WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?

  • Communication skills (Chinese & English) : By manning the customer service line, you will be constantly speaking and interacting with customers and partners, which will definitely train you to be eloquent and engaging in your speech in both Chinese and English.
  • Customer relationship management: Since your primary role is to service customers, you will be able to form an idea of how to maximise customer satisfaction or build rapport with customers, which is essential knowledge for service industries.
  • Time management and stress control skills: Develop these important job competencies that will follow you throughout your working life as you learn to manage your time properly and handle stress without cracking under the pressure.
YOUR TASK:

  • Customer service call center related work; includes communicating with customers, partner companies and staff, to handle enquiries and give an informative reply to whoever is calling, helping to increase customer happiness and partner satisfaction.
  • In order to provide great customer service, you will have to familiarize your knowledge of StarTaster's product offering, partners available as well as how the startup operates (prices, time of delivery).
  • Basic admin assistant related work; includes document filing and organizing, data entry and other ad-hoc tasks. You will have many daily documents, invoices and mails to file and organize. You will also use Word/Excel to carry out simple data entry duties.
REQUIREMENTS:

  • Singaporean, PR, LTVP, DP, Public School Student.
  • Good Mandarin & English speaking, writing and listening skills.
  • Basic skill in word and excel.
  • Previous experience in customer service, especially call center environment will be preferred.
  • Fast learner and ability to handle challenge.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision, yet a team player when needed, with good interpersonal and communication skills
