Stewardship Asia Centre (SAC) was established by Temasek Holdings, a global investment company headquartered in Singapore. In 2003, Temasek instituted a policy to support its community contributions, and in 2007, it established Temasek Trust as a trustee of philanthropic endowments and gifts.
In 2017, we became a beneficiary of Temasek Trust. The other beneficiaries include Temasek Foundation, Temasek Life Sciences Laboratory and Mandai Nature.
In line with Temasek’s ethos to do well, do right and do good, we define stewardship as creating value by integrating the needs of stakeholders, society, future generations and the environment.
We are looking for a positively driven, sharp, and self-motivated individual who has a strong interest in conducting research to promote practical applications of stewardship through executive education, research, and engagement. An intern in this position will be supporting key initiatives, such as Steward Leadership 25, an annual listing of the 25 best projects of steward leadership excellence within the Asia-Pacific region, and other research projects that may arise. This includes conducting relevant research to accelerate the stewardship movement for investors, senior business leaders, HR professionals, and Board Directors. Apart from the corporate audience, we are also developing programmes and initiatives focusing on youth. This may also present opportunities for participation in and support of such youth-related projects on a demand basis.
Responsibilities
- Research, analysis, and programme review, including:
- Conduct landscape research and literature review of relevant topic areas related to steward leadership and its application, e.g. investment, sustainability, data stewardship, governance
- Curate and write case studies on projects that have made the Steward Leadership 25 List
- Contribute to generating content ideas to meet research and engagement objectives
- Support in the content development of events and other activities, such as executive education programmes
- Assist in other administrative and research development duties as needed
- Participate in the preparation and/or facilitation of youth-related ad hoc projects
Requirements
- Undergraduate (3rd or 4th year students) or Postgraduate students from a relevant field such as Social Science, Business Administration, Corporate Sustainability, or Sustainable Development are preferred
- Ability to identify the range of pertinent and applicable business challenges and opportunities
- Willing to work on all sorts of assignments, including supporting the organisation of events and some administrative work
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including editing and proofreading
- Good team player yet able to work well independently
- Meticulous, analytical, highly organised and intellectually inquisitive
- Candidate will ideally be able to commit for 3 – 6 months (flexible with possible part-time arrangement).
