Backend Web Developer @ Edtech Start-up
We are looking for outstanding developers who are passionate about improving education with technology. We are looking forward to having motivated and effective developers join us on this internship programme.
For our Backend Web Designer, your primary role would be to develop concise and maintainable API functions to serve the needs of our frontend application as well as improving and safeguarding backend workflows and ensure proper local, remote state management. We expect you to be proactive in learning and resilient in the face of challenges. You should be able to take critical feedback objectively and view this internship as an opportunity for growth.

Responsibilities
- Completes functional objectives based on weekly SCRUM objectives
- Write testable and efficient backend code by using best software development practices.
- Transforms graphical mockups into HTML / CSS and creates functional interfaces.
- Integration of VueJS frontend to backend modular RESTful APIs.
- Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs
- Proactive and self-motivated with wide latitude for independent judgment in a dynamic working environment
- Potential managerial opportunities
Required Skills
- Good competency in NodeJS, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Command line
- Javascript skillset with experience in Vue JS, NodeJS and RESTful API
- Sound understanding of GIT versioning best practices
- Create and maintain software documentation
- Excellent communication skills
- Proactive and collaborative attitude
- Resourcefulness and troubleshooting aptitude
