Job Description

About the role

The Great Room is looking for energetic and personable Member Relations Officer (MRO) who has a great passion for hospitality and understands the Food & Beverage standard. The MRO will report to the Centre Manager and the goal is to deliver a strong community spirit, through operational excellence, and great members experience.

What will you do

Ensure Operational Efficiency

  • Manage the cafe, and all orders coming through Digital Concierge/ POS System
  • Work on community initiatives and programs to develop connections and network among members, including member introductions, event support, email and print communications
  • Encourage participation and use of our members’ platform and network portal
  • Develop strong rapports with members, and proactively gather company details and members’ preferences to enhance service delivery and sales experience
  • Ensure a warm welcome and fond farewell for all members and visitors to the office 

Barista responsibility

  • Support the Centre Manager to develop best practices and process improvement to benefit service efficiency and members’ experience
  • Develop strong rapports with members and members’ preferences to enhance member’s experience
  • Prepare and serve hot and cold drinks such as coffee, tea, artisan and speciality beverages.
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, utensils and equipment
  • Develop a sense of ownership of the premise to ensure a clean seating arrangement– Describe menu items and suggesting products to customers
  • Take order and serve to the member/ guests
  • Receive and process payment via POS system
  • Maintain necessary equipments (e.g freezers, refrigerators, toaster or microwave) to ensure proper functioning
  • Provide customers with product details, such as coffee blend or preparation descriptions
  • Work with our selected F&B vendors to ensure our inventory are catered to in a timely manner

Play a part in creating the Community

  • Research and identify the needs of prospective and existing members, and develop menu to meet their preferences
  • Ensure all follow-up and communications are responded to professionally and within the timeframe given as per company standards
  • Prepare monthly overview of research and development menu as part of the business plan
  • Assist in Monday Breakfast Club in your based location 

Be the Supportive Office Expert

  • Ensure the office is maintained in a clean and defect free condition at all times, by conducting daily walkthroughs of the office to identify areas for improvement and maintenance

Who you are

  • Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Great organisational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Proven objection handling, prospecting and negotiation skills.
  • Strong organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise, multi-task, delegate and work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Have WSQ Basic Food Hygiene certification as advantageous
  • Have at least 1 – 2 years experience working in Food & Beverage industry
  • Have a high standard of hospitality and service standard
  • Demonstrate integrity, dependability, responsibility, accountability, self-awareness, work ethic, and empathy
  • Reliable, focused, and detail-oriented
  • Self-directed with a high level of initiative and a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Finds it easy to bridge corporate and start-up culture
