The Lavender Spaceship Project is a mission-driven company based in Singapore that aims to nurture the interest of girls aged 7-18 years old in coding and technology. It is the first and leading firm that aims to increase gender parity in STEM fields by focusing on early encouragement and skill-building of young girls.
With 5+ years in operation, we have received high ratings from parents and have been featured in prominent print, online and TV media platforms.
We are looking for a passionate educator who can spark the enthusiasm for computer science/ technology among girls. You will be a part of a team that is small, agile, and values mutual respect and open communication. This is a part-time position in a 100% remote work setting.
The candidate must be punctual, honest with a strong work ethic, and must believe in the mission of promoting girls in the field of technology.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Teaching coding to girls 7 to 18 years old
• Experience teaching with the following languages/platforms: Scratch, Python, Python for Data Analytics, HTML/CSS, Javascript, TinkerCAD, Microbit, Modding with Minecraft
• Teaching hours are usually between 3 pm to 7 pm during weekdays and 9 am to 1 pm on weekends. You must be able to give at least 4 hours per week for teaching.
Education: Coding/ Technology background with a Bachelor’s or Master's degree
Desired Candidate Experience
• Must have experience in teaching coding online and/or in a classroom
• Good communication skills. Conduct lessons in a fun and engaging manner.
• Any real-world coding experience is an advantage
Debriefing and ongoing training will be provided. You will receive sufficient support and guidance from the team. Only Singapore citizens and PRs please.
