JUNIOR PASTRY CHEF / TRAINEE

Our fantastic Pastry team plays a crucial (and delicious) role in producing our variety of cakes and pastries, which are baked fresh daily and served in all our outlets.
You will have the amazing opportunity to work closely, and learn directly from our Executive Pastry Chef, as well as our experienced Pastry Chefs, who themselves have joined us and developed extremely well to their current high levels of expertise.
You will...
- Come to understand the different varieties of product offerings
- Learn the baking techniques behind our delicious cakes and pastries, from the best ingredients available, to the various mixing methods, measurements, and accurate blending of ingredients
- Understand the proper use of mixers, blenders, heat sources, and other equipment used in production
- Learn to appreciate the importance of using the correct cookware and bakeware, so as to achieve the right temperature during the baking process
- Pick up priceless skills and knowledge in being able to accurately identify the different types, characteristics, functions, and quality indicators of each baking ingredient
- Appreciate the importance of always maintaining food safety standards; from quality checks and control to the proper handling and storing of ingredients, as well as ensuring all equipment are sanitized and ready for use
- Be exposed to even more skill-development opportunities from other ad-hoc tasks assigned by the Executive Pastry Chef
Job Requirements:
- Will be good to have at least 1-year related working experience or training, but not entirely necessary as training will be provided in abundance
*There are also other career development opportunities in Bakery, Bar, Back-of-House (BOH), Deli, and Retail if the interest and passion is there
- A valid Food Hygiene Certificate registered with Singapore Food Agency (SFA)
*If you do not have a valid food hygiene certificate, the Company will arrange the training and certification
- Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced, yet fun environment
- Great communication skills with positive, interpersonal skills
- A team player with a good sense of job responsibility and a keen eye for details
- Flexibility to work early morning shifts, weekends, and public holidays
- Honest willingness to learn and grow with the Company
