Job Description
  1. Identify with The Salvation Army's mission with responsibility of casting goals for the promotion, reimbursement and dispatch of The War Cry and other publications produced by Territorial Headquarters.
  1. Submit and update all donations and subscriptions for The War Cry.
  1. Prepare and monitor applications for renewal of Singapore and Malaysia permits for publication of SA publications.
  1. Work closely with Secretary for Programme to plan budget and execute projects within budget effectively and efficiently.
  1. Co-ordinate the name card requirements of officers and employees throughout the territory.
  1. Liaise and manage external service providers including artists, graphic designers, photographers, and other members of the creative team for publications, websites, or other digital forms of media.
  1. Co-ordinate inter-departmental translation requirements including proof reading and billing of freelance work.
  1. Responsible for layout of SA periodicals and publicity materials as approved by the Editor.
  1. Design posters and promotional pamphlets for special events and outsource for multimedia presentations as required by Territorial Leaders in English, Mandarin, Tamil and occasionally Burmese and Thai.
  1. Work closely with requestors and be able to conceptualise the requirement to deliver the desired output as approved by the Editor.
  1. Competent in using designing software.
  1. Responsible for photography at SA events upon request (including Sunday worship services as requested).
  1. File selected overseas publications and oversight management of photo library.
  1. Responsible for layout of books published by the Territory.
  1. Knowledgeable and updated on the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and ensure compliance at both individual and service providers level.
  1. Attend the bi-monthly Communication Committee Meeting as a Minutes Secretary
  1. Source information as requested by the Editor, including the investigation of upgrading office equipment as required.
  1. In the absence of the Editor attend to general enquiries by the public regarding SA publications; deal with general correspondence related to publications after discussion with the Editor.
  1. Participate in weekly departmental prayers and weekly THQ prayers.
  1. Assist the Secretary for Programme / Editor / Line Manager in any editorial-related assignments.
  1. Respond when called upon to support and represent the department with non-literature matters, such as counting of money, THQ special events or others.
  1. All other tasks that may be asked to perform by the supervisor.


Qualifications

KEY COMPETENCIES

  • Intimate knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including (but not limited to) InDesign,
  • Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including (but not limited to) Powerpoint,
  • Word, Outlook, Excel
  • Excellent time management skills
