The Scientist is a Singapore based interior design consultancy firm started in 2012, providing interior design, space planning consulting services to primary owners of the residential market segment. The scientist also engages design and build projects for condominiums homes and HDB residential homes. For landed properties, we provide interior design services directly to homeowners or via architectural firms and builders that takes on the entire rebuild of the property. The Scientist targets the mid to high end residential space where homeowners dream to create the ultimate Home and living space tailored to the lifestyle and preferences to the most minute details. Services rendered to these group of individuals requires the firm to have deep knowledge of design and more importantly a consistent design process and sustainable practice by the team. Our design firm adopts a simple design philosophy and belief system; that there is no clear-cut formula specifically for each of our engagement, what is needed is a strong passion and constant desire for creation. Design is often said to be subjective but we believe that through the right conversations with customers and our proven design principles and processes, we create innovative design concepts and make design decisions with our customers based on facts and science, and this translates through to the end product which our customers are convinced and love. The Scientist seeks to create a positive and memorable experience for our customers, helping customers unveil and anticipate lifestyle changes that translates into future proofed space planning requirements, making thought through decisions to mark the key milestone in the homeowners journey.
Quantity Surveyor
- Prepare, maintain and management of tender documents comprises of BOQ, tender clarifications and unit prices etc.
- Measure of quantities from drawings.
- Prepare proposal and quotation to customer.
- Prepare tender documents to subcontractor / vendor for quotations.
- Manage tender administration and oversee project works.
- Evaluation of price comparison and costing summary.
- Project administration and documentation include preparation of interim evaluation, pricing and agreement of contract variations, update claim submissions, preparation of final accounts.
- Preparation of monthly progress claims to customer.
- Prepare / verification / upkeep of project variation work and site instructions.
- Other quantity surveying related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Degree/Diploma in Engineering/Architecture or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in quantity surveying and project management in Singapore for both landed & premium residential as well as commercial projects.
- Expertise on the full project life cycle, from feasibility study, quotation, budgeting, technical documentation and site assessment.
- Working experience in furniture/construction/design industry will be an added advantage.
- Expertise in BCA regulations for A+A building works, application and construction timeline, quotation and quantity surveying.
- Proven experience in contractor or developer side for landed, premium residential and commercial projects
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Excellent client management and negotiation skills
- Ability and willingness to learn and follow all company processes as well as internal platform (Canvas)
