The Woof Agency – Software Engineer Intern

We are looking for a web-based software engineer intern to join our team to build our platform from the ground up. 

The platform will be built with React.js / Next.js framework in the front-end & Node.js + Express on the backend. 

We are looking for someone with a good understanding of front-end frameworks and a basic understanding of the Node.js backend. You’ll be mainly helping with creating front-end components and integration with GraphQL.

Responsibilities

• Developing new user-facing features using React.js 
• Backend integration with GraphQL & Apollo client 
• Building reusable components and front-end libraries for future use 
• Translating designs and wireframes into high quality code 
• Optimizing components for maximum performance across a vast array of web-capable devices and browsers

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model
• Thorough understanding of React.js and its core principles
• Experience with popular React.js workflows (such as Jest, Redux etc)
• Familiarity with newer specifications of EcmaScript
• Experience with data structure libraries (e.g., Immutable.js)
• Knowledge of isomorphic React is a plus
• Familiarity with GraphQL endpoint.
• Knowledge of modern authorization mechanisms, such as JSON Web Token
• Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools
• Experience with common front-end development tools such as Babel, Webpack, NPM, etc.
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
• A knack for benchmarking and optimization
• Understanding differences between multiple delivery platforms, such as mobile vs. desktop, and optimizing output to match the specific platform
• Implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests
• Basic understanding of AWS.
• Proficient understanding of git & git-flow.
• Only Singaporeans and PR should apply.
• Able to commit for at least 6 months 
• Existing student at a local university
